Choirmusic is a marvellous thing – actually it´s one of the most important cultural heritage of mankind. On one hand singing in a choir means connecting people all over the world in countless events reflecting a social, cultural and musical interchange. On the other hand the choristers get connected to themselves, uniting their body, mind and soul as an individual contribution to the superior goal: sharing the love for music.

With the 1st "Heart of Europe" Choir Competition we´d like to provide a platform for this artistical and cultural exchange. A place of integration and tolerance for the good intentions of european and worldwide community. A stage for outstanding choral performances.

Located in a particular place, regarding the symbolic get-together of nations, cultures and societies: Gelnhausen, the german city in the geographical hotspot of the European Union. Right in the Heart of Europe.

Therefore we sincerely invite ambitious choirs of all countries to contribute the 1st „Heart of Europe“ Choir Competition in order to present themselves as a part of cultural exchange on a maximum international artistical and technical level.

The competition is divided in four categories. Additionally there will be gala- and meeting- concerts, ceremonies for the opening and closing event, workshops as well as choir-parties. The picturesque old town of Gelnhausen with the „Obermarkt“ as the festival center provides perfect conditions for all activities. Another important fact: the connection to Gelnhausen is quite economical for the reason that participating choirs fly to the near-located Frankfurt (City) Airport.

Last but not least: high artistic performance deserves high appreciation. Awards of a total amount of 20.000 € approx. are supplied to reward outstanding performances.
